Bloggers, Fashion

I came across a blog called style rookie a while ago and must’ve somehow deleted it from my reader. Shame on me because I’ve been missing out on some good posts…yes, from a 12 year old. I remember wondering how old this little girl was, and when and where she learned to have so much fun with fashion. There’s something about her quirky sense of style, creativity and humor that all keeps drawing me back for more.

When I first found her blog, I caught myself wanting to emulate her. Is that sad? This is the problem with young fashion bloggers. They make me question myself for wanting to copy someone who’s young enough to be my daughter. I’m assuming New York Magazine’s fashion blogger had the same feeling and a little bit of hate came out when she questioned young Tavi’s age and the integrity of her blog.

Honestly, more power to her. Apparently she got some hate filled comments after the post (and many articles that followed) and took a break from posting. I, for one, am glad that she’s up and running again. More fun for me!

So precocious. At her age, I was wearing oversized JNCOs, shell-top adidas, Cross Colours and spraying Coolwater cologne all over myself as if I were cropdusting an entire field.

    Ahhh…Coolwater. I remember those days.
